I was brought onto this project as the storyboarder by Jon-Paul Hanson. We had about six weeks to complete the storyboards for this 15 minute film.
I was responsible for taking the written script to its first visual concepts. The director handed me the script and I was expected to have a completed rough pass by our next meeting. We met several times to go over details and make sure I was accurately conveying the directors vision for the film.
This was the first full film that I did boards for and it was a really smooth process, the director and I shared very similar ideas of how the film would look (probably due to me having recently binge-watched every crime drama series on Netflix that I could.) In short, research is very important.
